Ileana Pintilie, an art critic and curator, professor at the Faculty of Arts at the West University in Timişoara / Romania. Among her issued volumes: Actionism in Romania during the Communist Era (Idea Design and Print, Cluj / Romania, 2002), Mitteleuropäische Paradigmen in Südosteuropa. Ein Beitrag zur Kultur der Deutschen im Banat (in collab. with Roxana Nubert, Praesens, Vienna / Austria, 2006), Ştefan Bertalan: Crossroads (2010) and Ştefan Bertalan – Überlagerungen / Suprapuneri / Overlappings: Experimental Photography during 1970–1980 (Brumar, Timişoara / Romania, 2015). Also published articles and essays on Romanian and foreign contemporary art in catalogues and volumes like Performance Art in the Second Public Sphere: Event-based Art in Late Socialist Europe (Routledge, London / UK, 2018).
Was granted the National Award for Art Criticism (1994, 2015).
