Constantin Doroftei
Painter

Born on the 6th of May 1943 in Botosani, Romania.

Graduated from "Nicolae Grigorescu" The Fine and Decorative Arts Institute in Bucharest, mastered in painting, class of professor Ion Marsic.

He worked as a certified fine arts museographer and he retired in 2004 as a 1st degree professor at the "Stefan Luchian" Arts High school in Botosani.

He is a member of UAPR(The Romanian Artist's Association) since 1970 and is currently active in the Timisoara branch.

He experimented with multiple traditional graphic and decorative techniques but he chose oil painting, alternating periodically figurative approaches with abstract ones.

From 1969 on he has taken part in various collective county, intercounty, national, anual, themed, inaugural, memorial and museum related exhibitions.

Constantin Doroftei has works in museums, cultural institutions and colections in Romania, also in private colections in The United Kingdom, Switzerland, Germany, France, Israel, Italy and The United States of America.
